THE “TOURIST CORRIDOR” IN LOS CABOS

THE TOURIST CORRIDOR (OVERVIEW)

The Tourist Corridor is both a highway and connection between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, making up Los Cabos.  Its wide open landscapes, incredible views overlooking the Sea of Cortez, aqua-blue waters, isolated beaches, proximity as a central point in Los Cabos, and proves hotels or resorts with the highest ratings in the region.

The Tourist Corridor is approximately 25 miles in length and only constructed a little over 25 years ago.  Recently, a $120 million dollar renovation improved the highway due to growth in the destination.  In all, The Tourist Corridor has demonstrated the most growth at 23% in Los Cabos over the last ten years, becoming the future of Los Cabos.  Cabo San Lucas continues to grow but only at a clip of 11% on average, during the last two years.

The Tourist Corridor is actually “the place” for the majority of travelers today visiting Cabo San Lucas. The highest rated collection of luxury resorts or hotels all can be found along the “Transpeninsular Highway” with the exception of a few.  The Tourist Corridor exceeds the expectations of most tourists and offers: over 6,000 rooms, all eight golf courses, 12 “Five-Star” hotels, 2 “Four-Star” hotels, and 1 “Diamond” which is the world famous One&Only Palmilla.  There are no hotels or resorts with less than a “Four Star” rating in the area.  In the next five years, the Tourist Corridor will add another 3,000+ rooms collectively.

Most visitors staying in accommodations, are mostly interested in more sophisticated things to do such as:  golf, sports fishing, shopping, fine dining, art galleries, handmade jewelry, excellent service standards, affordable real estate, or oftentimes, looking for a second home.  Also, shopping for “high-end” articles reflecting the culture, tradition, and colors of Mexico can be found at places like Las Tiendas de Palmilla, for example.

This fairly, new plaza is located on the ultra exclusive Palmilla properties at kilometer 7.5 along the Transpeninsular Highway, and is open to the general public.  Shopping, dining, a full-service spa and hair salon, and fine art all can be found at the Las Tiendas de Palmilla plaza.  Nick San Restaurant & Sushi Bar, the most sought after and renowned restaurant in Los Cabos, offers another dining location and much larger addition at Las Tiendas de Palmilla. The overall experience is a spectacular visit whether at day or evening.  The plaza is currently constructing a second phase and will be a shopping experience reflective of The Tourist Corridor clientele.
